Plate metal detector DMP

Flat metal detector (DMP)

The DMP type plate metal detector is designed to detect ferrous and non-ferrous metals in piece goods or bulk materials up to 200 mm high.  The DMP detector protects process machines against damage caused by metal contamination, prevents production downtime and ensures product quality. It is also used as an additional level of protection after the magnetic separator.

The DMP metal detector is reliable, easy to use and designed for continuous operation. The DMP detector is characterized by high metal detection sensitivity, but its precision decreases with the distance from its surface. The metal detector's design allows for simple integration with an existing production line and conveyor system.

Performance features of the plate metal detector

  • Custom-made metal detector according to individual requirements.
  • Robust and durable design for continuous operation 24/7 under difficult working conditions.
  • Optimal detection of ferrous and non-ferrous metals as well as stainless steel in products up to 200 mm high.
  • High scanning sensitivity across the entire width of the conveyor belt.
  • Simple installation on the conveyor structure under the belt.
  • Adaptable to all types of belt conveyors.
  • Working width of the metal detector up to 2800 mm.
  • High resistance to vibration, shocks, and temperature fluctuations.
  • Operating temperature up to 80°C.
  • Intuitive operation using a membrane keyboard.
  • Electronic adjustment of scanning sensitivity.
  • Automatic teach-in mode (Auto-Set) to mask out intrinsic conductivity of products and environmental influence.

Principle of operation of the DMD metal detector

The tested product (bulk or bulk) transported on a belt conveyor moves over the detector installed under the belt. The detector creates a high-frequency electromagnetic field that covers the entire width of the conveyor belt. The electromagnetic field generated by the transmitting coil induces a certain signal in the receiving coil. The metal contained in the product deforms the electromagnetic field lines generated by the transmitting coil, thereby changing the amplitude and phase of the signal induced in the receiving coil. The received signal is analyzed by the detector's electronic system and converted into a metal detection signal. The metal detector detects iron and its alloys, including stainless steel and acid-resistant steel, and non-ferrous metals such as aluminium, copper, brass, zinc, lead, silver, etc.
